August 25th. I love it.

Crazy love.

First up this week, teaching Lupita things. I love it. While at Taco Bell the other night, we expanded on something she already knows how to do – “blow it up”. Basically, if you tried to fist bump her, she would hit your hand it the palm of her hand and make an expolding noise. On Thursday, I successfully got her to fist bump, but now she won’t explode it. One thing at a time, I guess.

I love it.

Next up, doing things with my Louisiana family. I love it. Since this is my last full weekend off for a month, I’m glad I got to spend time with Diana and Jose and Craig and Tammy. Yesterday we tried (unsuccessfully) to introduce Scout to Rey. It did not go as I’d hoped but we’ve got a plan for the next meeting that requires a fenced in area and Scout with a muzzle on. I really hope they learn to like each other. Today, I went to the meeting with Craig and Tammy and then we got lunch. I’m glad that I got to see everybody before my life becomes property of Tulane Athletics again.

I love it.

Finally, adopting Scout officially. I love it! On Thursday, Scout officially became part of my family. She is such a good dog. She wakes me up when I’m having nightmares, brings me her toys so I play with her when I’m feeling anxious, and she is an excellent co-pilot when we’re in the car (I try to take her places when I know it won’t be a long time). In fact, she loves the car so much, I literally have to drag her out of it when we get home. Welcome to the family, Scout!

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.
