Then and Now

Lately, I’ve been really missing the old days. When I say old days, I don’t mean way back when… I mean last year. I miss living in my old apartment with nothing.

Crazy right?

I look around my house now and I have so much. And I’m thankful for it. I can never complain I’m bored or have nothing to do. I have a TV, keyboard, bed, couch, shelves, tons of movies… but is it a little too much?

Last year, I lived off of basically nothing. I had an air mattress, a TV, my laptop, a chair, and a tent. And I loved it. It was great. I could spread out on the floor, had very little to clean, and there was so much room for activities! I didn’t put much into that apartment because I knew it was a short term thing. I didn’t want to get comfortable only to be ripped from it’s grasp and moved somewhere else.

That’s not the case for my current apartment. In order to make myself less homesick, I’ve put a lot of work into making this place feel like home. It actually looks like someone (and their dog) live here and it’s not just a squatter waiting to be kicked out.

Check out how my living situation has changed:

November 24th. I love it.

I can’t believe I survived this week!

First up, watchinig football. I love it. Today was the first time all season that I had a chance to watch football. All day. Non-stop. I started off with the Carolina game, then saw the end of the Packers game. Now I’m watching the Giants game. Lately I’ve had events on Sunday, so I  had to catch up later in the day. Sad to say it, but there will probably be very few days like this until Christmas.

I love it.

Next up, pajama days. I love it. Today I decided it was too cold to do anything but stay in the house in my pajamas. So that’s what I did. I woke up, took the dog out (in my pajamas, went back to bed, woke up again, took the dog out again, then started watching football. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday if I do say so myself.

I love it.

Finally, the new section on my website. I love it. If you take a look, you’ll see there is now a tab for “My Pretend Friends”. This is where I”m going to talk about my favorite TV shows and movies and actors because no one wants to talk to me about it, so I’ll just write it down. I called it “My Pretend Friends” because if  they knew who I was, we’d be best friends; and I talk about them like they are my friends.

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.

Water, water everywhere.

If you’re like me, then you have a really hard time making the healthy choice when it comes to choosing a beverage (or you go all day without drinking anything at all). In order to remedy this for myself, here’s what I’ve done:

I made the most convenient drink in my fridge water. I loaded up my door with 4 water bottles plus a pitcher of water that way it’s always cold. Now, when I open the fridge, instead of reaching for a Dr. Pepper or Vanilla Coke, I grab a water bottle because it’s just that easy.

I take a water bottle with me wherever I go. I am terrible at being hydrated. I can go a whole day without having anything to drink at all. I noticed this was starting to wear on me when I was tired all the time and felt like garbage. So what did I start doing? I  bring a water bottle with me everywhere. When I’m at work, in the car, at the dog park, everywhere. I drink more water now because if it’s there and available, I’ll drink it.

I will be the first to admit that I am not good at keeping up with actual news, but I’m all about Hollywood rumors and surprises.

One of the biggest surprises I got a few weeks back was that Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas, co-stars on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time”, were dating. In fact, they were engaged. Not only that, but Ginnifer Goodwin is pregnant!

As a HUGE fan of OUAT, I can’t believe I didn’t know this before. I found out thanks to Twitter, my go-to for all news that I need to know. This is actually one of the happiest things I’ve ever heard in my life. How often do you see a couple on screen that fall in love off screen? Okay, it may happen more than I think, but this is like one of those romances that you secret;y root for the actors to really fall in love so even after the show ends, you know they’re still out there somewhere. I can’t tell you how much I wanted John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer (Jim and Pam on “The Office”) to be together, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

That’s why I’m so happy about the relationship between Ginnifer Goodwim and Josh Dallas. While I may not know all of the details about the relationship because it seems like the two are tight-lipped on their personal lives, at least I can hope that it’s exactly like Snow and Charming.

November 17th. I love it.

First thing up this week, getting movies from the library. I love it. This week a few of my requests were in at the library so I went to peruse for a while. I brought home “Funny People”, “21 Jump Street”, “Celeste and Jesse Forever”, and “Admission.” Overall, “Celeste and Jesse” was my favorite because I like Andy Samberg. It was a little heartbreaking but funny as well.

I love it.

Next up, not eating fast food. I love it. This week is probably the first week since our fall sports started that I did not eat fast food at all. I am guilty of being too lazy on my way home from events to make dinner so I stop at Burger King. I’ve made it my goal to not eat any fast food until Thanksgiving (or longer if I can help it). Trying to stay motivated.

I love it.

Finally, getting my piano music. I love it. Now that I have a keyboard, I asked my mom to send me my  music and this week it came. Now I have a bunch of Disney songs, Christmas songs, and my piano books from when I took lessons. Get ready for a concert when I come home next month, family!

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.
