June 22nd. I love it.

I’m so glad this week is over.

First up this week, “The Fault in Our Stars.” I love it. On Tuesday, I went and saw the movie an I really enjoyed it. Was it as good as the book? No. Did I cry? No again. That part actually surprised me because I was a mess while reading the book. The people playing the characters were perfect, especially my longtime favorite Nat Wolff. I can’t wait to see him in “Paper Towns.”

I love it.

Next up, my crockpot. I know I say this a lot, but I made another great recipe this week. My MO for crockpot cooking is to throw random things that I have in my house into it and see what happens. On Wednesday, I put chicken, black beans, salsa, and cream of chicken soup in and let it sit. What I ended up making was very close to chicken tortilla soup. Delicious.

I love it.

Finally, unsolicited compliments. I love it. This morning I was very frustrated, because after I patched the mound for the game, one of the coaches made the comment that the mound (permission to speak freely) “looked like shit.” He then continued to complain about it. After his team lost the championship game, he again complained, feeling that it was my fault that they lost (he didn’t say it directly to me, but I have great hearing). I patched the mound for the final game of the day, and two, count it, two of the coaches complimented me on my mound. Unprompted and unaware of what the previous coach had said. That made me feel good. They were surprised that a “girl can patch a mound” but I’ll ignore that comment because they liked my work. The Hammond Yankees were the best team this weekend (Kaitlin and I voted on it).

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.
