August 17th. I love it.

Better week. Not great, but not horrible.

First thing I love this week, reading. I love it. This week alone, I read 2 books. The first one was “Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters.” I absolutely love Rick Riordan and his books, so it’s no wonder why I breezed through it. Like “The Lightning Thief”, it’s so different from the movie and I know I like the book more, but the movie wasn’t bad. The second book was one I read today. “If I Stay.” I’d only intended to read for an hour, but I couldn’t stop so four hours later, the book was finished and I wanted more. Now I can see the movie next weekend because it gets released on Friday!

I love it.

Next up, movies. I love it. This week I saw two movies that I was very leery of because I was afraid they wouldn’t meet my high expectations. The first was the new TMNT movie. As a fan of the old one (and even the new cartoon), I was only worries because I thought the new turtles looked creepy. Once I got over that, I didn’t hate the movie like I really wanted to. Was it amazing? No. Did I enjoy it? Yes, so I guess that’s all that matters. The second movie I saw was “The Giver” which is one of my favorite books of all time Based on the previews, I knew it wouldn’t be close to the book, so I tried to go in with an open mind. Take away the book, the movie was actually really good. I know they have to make changes to make things more exciting for the movie but they took out some of the key relationships in my eyes and just grazed over some of the most powerful scenes. But as I said before, it you haven’t read the book, you’ll like the movie.

I love it.

Finally, homemade chinese. I love it. Diana is an excellent couponer and when she gets foods that she isn’t a fan of, she passes it along to me. Last week she gave me some Uncle Ben’s oriental rice. To spice it up a little, I made it into my own version of “Not fried rice”. I added chicken, scrambled eggs, and onions. It was to die for. I liked it so much last week that I made more for this week. Turns out that when I take the time to cook, I can make pretty great things.

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.
