March 29th. I love it.

Love.

First up this week, Pelicans games. I love it. Brian and I got tickets to the Pelicans game, courtesy of Elijah, so today we went downtown to see the Pels in action. Luckily, we got to see them win and we also enjoyed ice cream and popcorn.

I love it.

Next up, swings. I love it. I have been searching for a swing set all over the city because the ones in City Park are always crowded and busy and I’m not one for waiting. On the way home from playing outside today, I spotted a small swing set with 4 swings. What? Perfect! And it’s so close to my house! I forgot what a workout a swing is! My arms are tired!

I love it.

Finally, hanging out with friends. I love it. I bet you never thought I would say that, right? Last night I went to hang out with Curtis, Jackie, and a bunch of people from work. We watched the Notre Dame-Kentucky game and then got into Predator. I’m finding that I don’t hate going out to do things with other people anymore. It’s kinda cool.

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.

March 22nd. I love it.

Crazy love.

First up this week, ice cream. I love it. In the last week I have had so much ice cream, I’m surprised I haven’t turned into a waffle cone. Between going to Sucre and getting a bunch of ice cream from Walmart, and having an ice cream bar at my friends house, I all ice creamed out. Not really.

I love it.

Next up, cemeteries. I love it. I’ve lived in New Orleans for over three years and this week was the first time I ever visited a cemetary. It was disappointing that we couldn’t walk around without a tour guide, but we did learn a lot.

I love it.

Finally, having my mom visit. I love it. She came in on Wednesday and we’ve been going crazy and painting the town! Not really. We keep it low key when she’s here. We went to dinner, the movies, shopping, and of course got beignets! I’m glad she finally got to meet Brian, too. I can’t wait to go see her and the rest of my family in June!

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.

March 15th. I love it.

Love.

First up this week, blondies. I love it. On Thursday I made one of my favorite desserts. They are the opposite of brownies but just as satisfying. The only reason I started making them a few years ago is because I saw them in the Nancy Drew movie and they looked delicious. Mine are probably equally as delicious.

I love it.

Next up, bacon wrapped crust deep deep dish pizza. I love it. Have you seen the commercials for this thing? It’s a Little Caesar’s concoction that we absolutely had to try out. O. M. Goodness. It is perfection in pizza form. I suggest everyone tries it at least once. You will not regret it.

I love it.

Finally, having the day off. I love it. It wasn’t under great circumstances that I had the day off on Thursday; I really wasn’t feeling well. But spending the entire morning sleeping and following it up in the afternoon catching up on my shows and watching movies, I guess it made me feel better. I get some real days off next week which will be great because my mom is coming to visit!

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.

Diving monkeys and Ashton Kutcher’s shark.

Can we talk about crazy dreams for a minute?

The past two nights have been filled with terrifying dreams about animals. Were the animals trying to hurt, harm, bite, eat, or chase me? No. But I didn’t trust their motives. Check out these crazy dreams.

On Sunday night, I dreamed that I was filming a documentary with my brother. We were on location in some forest watching the wildlife. We stumbled upon a group of three Capuchin monkeys that were standing in single file, waiting their turn to jump into the river. They looked like they were having a lot of fun.

And then I noticed that they had black and yellow bathing suits on.

I didn’t think anything of it and remember thinking, “Oh, they must be self conscious with the cameras around”, although they would have had no idea that the cameras were coming. Whatever. We moved on to the next group of monkeys that were about the size of Capuchin monkeys, but had significantly longer facial hair; they looked like old men.

Much like the first set of monkeys, these guys were jumping into the water but the way they did it was so strange. In their hands, they held small, rolled up bread (I think). It looked like a sea shell but I could tell it was mold-able. The old men monkeys took turns jumping into the water, each guy starting by balancing on one foot and holding the roll lovingly next to his face.

After they had all jumped and gotten out of the water, they made their way up a tree and sat on a very thick branch. I even found myself scrambling up there (with a lot more trouble than they had).

Suddenly, I heard a narrator start talking about what they were doing.

“Now that their rolls have been fertilized by the Bayou water, each monkey will turn their roll into hundreds of snakes.”

That’s all it took for me to wake up. The promise of hundreds of snakes.

My dream that I woke up to this morning had a bunch of celebrity cameos.

I was at home, minding my own business, sitting at the kitchen table with Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale. All of a sudden, the door swings open and in walks Ashton Kutcher, bear hugging a shark. He laid it on the blue tile and happily announced that he had just caught a nurse shark.

Seemingly unphased by the fact that there was a shark in my kitchen, I quickly corrected him. “It’s actually a black tip reef shark.”

Before I knew it, my house was filling up with water. Again, I didn’t mind that it was happening. My only goal was to avoid the shark. I walked into the living room and found Melissa Joan Hart sitting on the couch playing with her dolphin. I warned her about the shark, but she was sure that the two animals would hit it off so she lead me and the dolphin back into the kitchen.

Even if the shark and dolphin were friendly with one another, I didn’t want to be part of this, so I tried to go into my room. Of course, the black tip reef shark followed me and the last thing I remember was trying to trap it in my room.

I woke up gasping for breath.

March 8th. I love it.

Yay love.

First up this week, cooking. I love it. I know that I say it a lot, but Brian and I make some really good food. This week’s menu consisted of chicken and broccoli stuffed shells, crockpot cheese steak sandwiches, and homemade orange chicken. Yum! I love Pinterest! Expect more delicious food this week.

I love it.

Next up, Rum House. I love it. Brian and I have decided that for date nights now, we’re gonna go somewhere new. Our plan is to work out way down Magazine Street. Last week was Dat Dog (amazing) and this week was Rum House (equally amazing). We’ve both been there before, but it’s has been months and after trying to go last week but not wanting to wait so long, we made sure we got there pretty early yesterday. Their tacos? Perfection. The lemonade? Even better.

I love it.

Finally, having a day off. I love it. Yesterday was the first day that I hadn’t worked 7 hours or more in 18 days. Guess where I ended up, though? Work! I went to the baseball game because I’ve never been the Greer Field as a fan. It didn’t last long. I was sitting in the stands getting some sun when it came to my attention that I was being called for on the radio. The scoreboard was malfunctioning and who knows how to fix it? Me. And only me, apparently. I came to the rescue but I couldn’t rescue the team from losing the game. But there were some very impressive plays.

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.

March 1st. I love it.

So. Much. Love.

First up this week, The Slap. I love it. I wasn’t sold on this shows based on the previews, but since it has Zachary Quinto and Pete Sarsgaard, I thought I’d give it a try. Wow. It is such a great show. I don’t know how they will make it into a full series, but the story line is interesting and the fact that they are doing the story telling from everyone’s point of view is such a cool idea.

I love it.

Next up, milkshakes. I love it. Today I decided it was necessary to have a milkshake. The weather was warmer than it has been and I have a lot of left over ice cream that I needed to get rid of so I put it to good use. Cookie dough ice cream, with chocolate syrup and double stuff Oreos? Amazing.

I love it.

Finally, walk off wins. I love it. Tulane’s baseball team has been on a roll. Before today, we were 9-2. We played Creighton this weekend and both teams were very uptight. After a benches clearing brawl yesterday, everyone was on edge today. It was a fight down to the last inning when we were tied at 2 with 2 outs. In what seems to be typical Tulane fashion, we won on a walk off hit to left field. Turchin Stadium went crazy! It was so cool to watch!

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.
