What day sticks out in your mind as a day that changed everything? Something you did took you on the course of your life that lead you to here? What was your proudest moment?
I’ve been thinking about this all day. I’ve searched memories that have had an impact on my life, but what is my proudest moment?
I think my proudest moment was accepting my first “big girl” job. After being home for 4 months to work out some mental health issues, I found out that I was wanted back in New Orleans.
MY FIRST REAL, FULL-TIME, SALARIED POSITION!
It was a huge deal for me. As much as I liked living at home and being around my family, I felt that I was a worthless lump who only went to therapy, the library, and watched “Arthur” everyday. I’m not sure I was ready for that big move, but I did it anyway.
Here we are 3 and a half years later and today was my last day of that job. In a month, I’m starting my new job (and career) as a teacher.
I guess I’m pretty proud of that, too.
