June 3rd. I love it.

Holy Toledo, it’s already June!

First up this week, school being over. I love it. After a week of recognition ceremonies and graduations, I am finally on summer break! Well, it’s not a total break; yes, I’m not working full time this summer but I have 4 classes that I’m taking and three of those are going on right now. As my boss likes to point out, I’m a “nerd” so I have no trouble navigating all of the assignments.

I love it.

Next up, “The Heroes of Olympus” series. I love it. This week alone, I’ve read the first 2 books in this Rick Riordan series (Percy Jackson) and I’m in the middle of the third one. I’m currently working on my 30th book of the year. If you’re keeping score at home, you’ll probably notice that 30 was my reading goal for the year – yeah… turns out I am not as busy as I hoped I would be so I’m bumping my goal to 40 but now I want to read books that aren’t meant to be easy reads, like a lot of the YA novels I read. When I go on vacation, I’m gonna read the new Stephen King novel, “The Outsider” and I’m so excited.

I love it.

Finally, seeing old friends. I love it. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a lot of guys through minor league baseball so when they move on to different teams and cities I try my best to keep up with how they’re doing. I was totally surprised when I realized that my friend Preston Guilmet was in NOLA for the weekend playing the Baby Cakes. I saw him play in 2 games and it turns out I still get stomach aches watching my guys play because I want them to do really well.

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.
