An Update on My Resolutions

September 25th. I love it.

Roller coaster emotions this week friends, but I still love it.

First up this week, having a visitor. I love it. Carmen (a dog) has been staying with me since Friday. It’s been really nice because there’s someone else for Yogi to play with. They’re about the same size and they both love playing fetch so when Yogi tosses a toy across the room, they both chase it and chaos ensues. It’s like I’m living with the 3 Stooges.

I love it.

Next up, reading. I love it. I know this one is obvious, but this week alone I read three books and I loved them all. The first was “I Kill the Mockingbird” then it was “The Rest of Us Just Live Here” and I finished off the week with “Upside Down in the Middle of Nowhere.” I highly recommend all three. I gave myself a break from reading this weekend to catch up on some shows, but I’ll be back at it this week with Mara Wilson’s (Matilda in the movie way back when) autobiography, “Where Am I Now?” I tweeted that I’m going to pick it up from the library tomorrow and she liked my tweet! It’s fun to know that people you admire acknowledged your existence even if only for a second.

I love it.

Finally, book reviews. I love it. If you’ve noticed, I’ve started putting short little book reviews on my blog. I don’t try to give away spoilers and I often go off on tangents, but if theres a book that you think I should read, let me know! Of if you wrote a book and want a review, let me know too!

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.

3 Thoughts I Have After Reading Half of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I have waited a long time to read the Harry Potter series. I didn’t really have a plan not to, but I guess when the books came out I just didn’t want to read what everyone else was. It was something I regretted early on, but I managed to keep myself safe from spoilers up until this point by avoiding the movies, Tumblr posts, memes, and any and all summaries. Therefore, I have no idea what happens at the end of the books. So far, my favorite book is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and my favorite movie is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Currently, I’m halfway through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

These are the three things I hope/wish/wonder happen in the rest of the 7th book:

  1. I hope that Harry, Ron, and Hermione go back to Hogwarts after taking a hiatus looking for the horcruxes/He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named and finish their studies. That is the geek in me wishing everyone did their best and they follow the plan. I mean, how are they going to get jobs if they don’t take their NEWTS? Plus, they could graduate with Ginny and wouldn’t that be fun?
  2. I wonder what’s going on with Neville. You know, this story could just have easily been him so I’d love to know how things would have been different. Does Harry have the intention of telling Neville what could have been? This could be a major bonding moment. I’m also super pumped about how much Neville came out of his shell as he grew up. What could have been, right?
  3. I wish that Harry and Hermione were the ones that fell in love. Ron, honestly, drives me crazy and is a jealous git. Harry is very humble doesn’t want all of the attention, like Ron does. Harry and Hermione just fit better together. Has anyone written FanFic about that yet? It’s my goal now to find it.

These are my thoughts halfway through. I’ll write about my thought about the entire series once I’m done. I can’t believe I waited so long to read them!
