Taskade – For List Lovers

(I also posted this on my OCD blog)

I’ve recently been told about a Chrome extension that might change your life. If you love making lists then you need to get Taskade!

By downloading this extension, all of your lists are in one place. You can create different “spaces” for your lists and separate them into categories. I, for example, have one space for ideas I have for gifts for other people, one for ideas I have for class, and one is for lists of things that I want/need.

What this extension has allowed me to do is get my lists off of my phone. I also love that I can click on the items and literally “check” them off. Recently I’ve been having some major motivation issues so I started writing my lists our by hand so I can cross things off and feel more accomplished. Taskade gets me back to digital and I can still cross things off. How great this that?

Another awesome thing? Once you install the extension, whenever you open a new tab, your lists pop up. To me, this is really motivating because not only does it keep those things on your mind by looking at them, but it also reminds me of what I should really be doing (and usually putzing around Twitter is not on that list).

Go forth with this knowledge and stay on task!

May 7th. I love it.

OK! I KNOW! I DIDN’T WRITE LAST WEEK! But I had a good excuse. I thought I was dying but it was actually just the flu. But I’m back!

First up this week, seeing Lupita grow up. I love it. Well, it’s really bittersweet. Yesterday I went and saw her perform in her first dance recital. She did so great! She tapped and tumbled like a pro (or as well as a five year old can). It’s so weird to see her so grown up and independent. Can you believe she’ll be in kindergarten in the fall? Where did my baby-friend go?

I love it.

Next up, movies. I love it. I know- you know. This week I saw “Born in China” and “Gifted.” Loved them both. “Born in China” was narrated by one of my favorites – John Krasinski so listening to his wonderful voice for an hour and a half was lovely. “Gifted” stars Chris Evans as the uncle of a 7 year old math prodigy – I laughed, I cried, and I didn’t mind watching a scruffy Mr. Evans protect a little girl (so dreamy).

I love it.

Finally, deep cleaning. I love it. I’ve been so unproductive the past few weekends. Between being sick and traveling and just using being tired as an excuse, I made up my mind to be active this weekend. Friday after school I went grocery shopping (first time in at least 3 weeks). On Saturday, I woke up and started to deep clean my house. I mean I cleaned out the fridge and cabinets and closets, and bathroom. I had 3 bags of trash and 2 bags for Goodwill. I even went to Goodwill on Saturday, instead of letting everything sit in my car for a few weeks like I normally do, and rewarded myself with Starbucks. I’m not one that lives and dies by Starbucks, but I had a gift card and I deserved it. I got the Midnight Mint Mocha Frap – so good! I finished the day by washing my car (and then going to see Lupita dance). I’m already making plans on how I can be productive next weekend.

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.

October 9th. I love it.

Yay love.

First up this week, hanging out with friends. I love it. Yesterday’s big plans with Jose, Diana, and Lupita was to go to Beignet Fest and stuff our faces with 30 different variations of beignets. After taking the street car downtown, we arrived to a massive amount of people in Lafayette Square. We wandered around for a little while but actually never ate a beignet because you had to buy everything with tickets. The problem with this is that the line for tickets was ridiculous and then the line for beignets was even longer. And there was no way to figure out what you were waiting in line for anyway. We made the best of it, though, and had Pumpkin Spice pancakes at IHOP.

I love it.

Next up, deep cleaning. I love it. I had to do my reset Sunday today but I got a little carried away and did a major deep clean. I did both bathrooms, the kitchen (which really needed it), both bedrooms, living room, 3 loads of laundry and emptied 2 cans of trash. I seriously think that the pumpkin spice lattes from McDonald’s has something in it that makes me ultra productive.

I love it.

Finally, Gilmore Girls. I love it. Today alone, I’ve watched basically the entire 5th season. What I love about this show is that it is something everyone in my family loves. This even sparked a conversation amongst the Deas Siblings about who Rory should have ended up with. I think that she should have ended up with Marty, but since she never actually dated him, I’m totally Team Logan. It’s a house divided, but that’s what makes life interesting.

I love it. It’s great. Everything’s great.

I love it.
